Botox® Injections

The deep creases and wrinkles on the face are a result of frequent muscle contractions that eventually create a wrinkled appearance between the brows, on the forehead and around the eyes. Botox® is a purified protein used in small doses to weaken and relax the muscles of frowning, squinting, forehead elevation and nasal crunch lines. The depth of the wrinkle decreases, and over time there appears to be a decrease in the progression of the lines.

Among other uses, Botox® injections can be used to reshape the eyebrows, or complement forehead and eyelid surgery. The effects of Botox® last three to four months, but with frequent use for two years the interval between injections can lengthen.
